| 表面の説明 | The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring the traditional design with a shield, royal palm, rising sun, a key, and two fasces, surmounted by a Phrygian cap on a pole. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery. The face value 10 PESOS is inscribed along the lower periphery, while the weight and fineness designations 20G and AG 0.999 appear on the left and right sides of the field respectively. |

The Cuban Tody (*Todus multicolor*) is endemic to Cuba and among the most vividly colored birds in the Caribbean — the kind of subject Cuba's mint has returned to repeatedly across its fauna-themed silver series of the 1990s. KM#555 belongs to that broader run of commemorative wildlife issues produced for the collector export market, a revenue strategy the Cuban government leaned on heavily during the Special Period following the Soviet Union's collapse in 1991, when hard currency was desperately scarce domestically.
