The bank title 'BANCO DE MARQUEZ' is set in bold letterpress at centre, with the place of issue 'Barranquilla' inscribed at upper centre, while an intaglio portrait of an elderly gentleman in a dark coat occupies the right panel. This is a specimen example, bearing red 'MUESTRA' overprints at lower left and right, with zeroed serial numbers '0000'. |

The printer's imprint 'AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY, NEW YORK' runs along the lower margin. |
