| Obverse description | Black intaglio on pink-tinted paper, with a classical allegorical female figure seated among flowers and accompanied by a cherub as the left vignette, enclosed within ornate guilloche borders. The bank title 'BANCO DE MARQUEZ' is set in bold letterpress at centre, with the place of issue 'Barranquilla' inscribed at upper centre, while an intaglio portrait of an elderly gentleman in a dark coat occupies the right panel. This is a specimen example, bearing red 'MUESTRA' overprints at lower left and right, with zeroed serial numbers '0000'. |
