| Opmerkingen |
Corrientes issued its own quasi-currency during the prolonged Argentine fiscal crisis, when the provincial government was effectively cut off from federal transfers and unable to meet public sector payroll obligations. These notes — formally called "Letras de Cancelación de Deudas del Tesoro" in the broader provincial scrip wave, though Corrientes had its own specific instruments — circulated alongside federal pesos at parity by local convention rather than legal mandate.
The PS# designation without a catalog number reflects how poorly documented the 2001 provincial emergency issues remain. Several Argentine provinces struck similar arrangements that year; Corrientes was among the most financially distressed, having already been under federal intervention.
