Obverse description Allegorical female bust facing left, representing the Republic of Chile, her hair elegantly coiffed and adorned with a laurel sprig at the back. The figure is rendered in fine relief in the Art Nouveau style characteristic of engraver Oscar Roty. The legend REPVBLICA DE CHILE arcs around the periphery, with the engraver's signature O. Roty incised in small letters at the base of the neck truncation. A fine toothed border frames the design.
