The upper portion bears the inscriptions ESTADO SOBERANO and DE CUNDINAMARCA flanking the central title BILLETE DEL ESTADO, with the coat of arms of the Estados Unidos de Colombia in an oval vignette at left. A large guilloche numeral 10 occupies the centre, flanked by the words DIEZ and PESOS, with a Series C designation and serial number above. To the right, an intaglio portrait of a bearded gentleman in three-quarter view. | Beschrijving keerzijde | Printed in brown on plain paper, the reverse presents a symmetrical tripartite layout with three large circular guilloche rosettes: the two outer rosettes each bearing the numeral 10 and the central rosette composed of an elaborate floral lathe-work pattern. Ornamental corner pieces with club-shaped motifs frame the design at all four corners, connected by horizontal decorative borders. The inscription ESTADO S. DE CUNDINAMARCA appears in an arched banner across the upper centre, and the printer's imprint Lit. D. Paredes, Bogotá is set at the lower centre. |
