| Opis rewersu | A colourised naturalistic depiction of a Common Eel (Anguilla anguilla) rendered in full colour occupies the central field, its sinuous body coiling in an S-shaped form with detailed fin and scale markings visible in shades of olive-green, brown and teal. The legend TEN PENCE arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin capitals, while COMMON EEL appears in bold raised lettering along the lower arc. The field surrounding the colourised subject retains the metallic nickel-plated finish, providing strong contrast to the vivid colour-printed eel illustration. The overall design was engraved by wildlife artist Mike Langman. |
