| Obverse description | Printed in black on a polychrome underprint using a combination of intaglio (chalcography) and lithographic techniques. The left vignette presents a seated female allegorical figure alongside the Imperial arms of Brazil, while the right vignette shows two goats; the central vignette carries a bust portrait of Emperor Dom Pedro II. The order number is printed in red at right, or on both sides in certain printings. |
