This is the seventeenth print run of a note type that had remarkable longevity — the 10 Mil Réis Thesouro Nacional design circulated across nearly two decades, spanning the Old Republic's final years, the Vargas revolution of 1930, and the Estado Novo dictatorship. That political continuity through multiple regimes says something about the practical conservatism of Brazilian treasury printing decisions during the period.
ABNC produced the plates in New York throughout this era, as they did for the majority of Brazilian federal paper in the first half of the twentieth century. By the seventeenth print, minor plate wear and revision differences between runs can affect attribution — specialists distinguish prints partly by signature combinations, which changed as treasury officials rotated in and out of office.
