正面铭文 Tätä setelistä maksaa Suomen Pankki vaadittaissa Kymmenen Markkaa hopeassa.
(Translation: For this banknote, Bank of Finland will pay on demand Ten Marks in silver.)
背面描述 The denomination "Kymmenen Markkaa" appears in large letters across the upper portion of the reverse, above a central numeral "10". Russian text occupies the lower centre, while three discrete text blocks running across the bottom of the note carry anti-forgery warning inscriptions in Finnish, Swedish, and Russian respectively, citing the Imperial decree of 13 April 1874.

备注

Finland was still a Grand Duchy under Russian imperial rule when this note was issued, and the Finnish markka had only been fully decoupled from the Russian ruble three years earlier, in 1872. The Bank of Finland's authority to issue an independent currency was a politically loaded arrangement — tolerated by St. Petersburg but treated in Helsinki as a meaningful assertion of administrative autonomy.

The P#A42 designation signals early catalog placement within the Finnish series, and genuine circulated survivors from this decade are uncommon. Paper quality and storage conditions in northern climates were unkind to notes of this period.
