| Aanvullende informatie |
Estonia's brief window of monetary independence between the wars produced a series of practically minded coinage issues, and the nickel-brass 10 Marka was among the first to circulate under the newly stabilized Estonian mark following the ruinous inflation of the early 1920s. The mark had been introduced in 1918 after independence from Russia, but years of war, occupation, and postwar instability had gutted its purchasing power before the government brought it under control mid-decade.
The Estonian mark itself was replaced entirely by the kroon in 1928, giving this coin a circulation window of roughly three years.
