The central panel carries a large watermark-style inscription 'STADT EMDEN' in pale block letters beneath a decorative band, with the municipal seal overprinted in black at centre. A redemption notice in Gothic script occupies the lower central field, stating that the note is redeemable at the Kämmereikasse Emden until 1 February 1919. The legend 'Stadt Emden' is repeated in Gothic type at all four corners. |
