She holds a tall pike surmounted by a Phrygian cap in her right hand, while at her feet to the left lies a fasces with a horn of plenty and to her right a bound quiver of arrows and an eagle, emblems evoking civic virtue and republican ideals. The circular legend LIBERTA EGUAGLIANZA is disposed around the upper periphery, with the mint mark Z V (Zecca Venezia) inscribed in the lower field below a decorative plinth. The coin is struck within a finely toothed beaded border and reflects the neoclassical artistic style prevalent in late eighteenth-century Italian republican coinage. |
