Bradbury Wilkinson printed this series for Iceland through much of the postwar period, and by the time P#48 entered circulation the partnership was well-established — the New Malden press had handled Icelandic currency commissions since at least the 1960s. The dual designer credit, pairing local artist Kristín Þorkelsdóttir with Bradbury Wilkinson's in-house engraver Stephen Alan Fairbairn, was a common arrangement: Icelandic cultural input on imagery, British technical execution on the plate.
The watermark is the sole security feature, modest even by the standards of the era.
