| Beschrijving voorzijde | Plain cream paper note with a simple typographic layout, enclosed within a decorative border of interlocking scroll ornaments with numeral '10' in each corner. The issuer's name 'Stord herad' is set in Gothic blackletter script at the top centre, beneath which the denomination 'Ti kroner' appears in bold letterpress type. A serial number appears to the upper right, with two manuscript signatures occupying the lower half of the note. |

Stord Herad issued this note in 1940 as a direct consequence of the German invasion of Norway in April of that year, which severely disrupted normal banking operations and coin supply across the country. Dozens of Norwegian municipalities, savings banks, and cooperatives produced their own emergency scrip during this period — the so-called nødpenger — and Stord's issue is among the more locally produced examples, printed on the island itself rather than farmed out to a commercial printer.
The Skaare reference places it firmly within the documented Norwegian emergency currency corpus, though survivor numbers are modest given the improvised nature of the issue and its short intended lifespan.
