| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped and laureate bust of Empress Maria Theresia facing right, encircled by a wreath of intertwined palm and laurel branches whose apex divides the surrounding legend. The Latin legend, commencing at approximately 7 o'clock, reads as an abbreviation of 'Maria Theresia, Dei Gratia Romanorum Imperatrix, Germaniae, Hungariae, Bohemiaeque Regina.' The effigy is rendered in the refined Baroque portrait style characteristic of Habsburg coinage of the period. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Burgau was a small Habsburg margraviate in Swabia whose coinage rights were exercised only sporadically, making any issue from the territory uncommon by definition. This piece belongs to a short window of production tied directly to Maria Theresia's sweeping monetary reforms of 1753–1754, which established the Konventionsthaler standard and forced dependent territories across the Habsburg lands to realign their fractional silver accordingly. Burgau's 10 Kreuzer issues of 1764–65 represent compliance coinage — struck to satisfy imperial mandate rather than local commercial demand.
