| Obverse description | Draped and laureate bust of Empress Maria Theresia facing right, encircled by a wreath of intertwined palm and laurel branches whose apex divides the surrounding legend. The Latin legend, commencing at approximately 7 o'clock, reads as an abbreviation of 'Maria Theresia, Dei Gratia Romanorum Imperatrix, Germaniae, Hungariae, Bohemiaeque Regina.' The effigy is rendered in the refined Baroque portrait style characteristic of Habsburg coinage of the period. |
