Obverse description Printed entirely in black letterpress on plain paper, the obverse is framed by a decorative rectangular border of fine repetitive guilloche ornament, with four circular rosette vignettes each enclosing the numeral '10' at the corners. A small woodcut vignette of the imperial Austrian double-headed eagle coat of arms appears at centre, flanked by columns of Fraktur text headed 'Münzschein.' and the denomination 'Zehn Kreuzer.' in heavy blackletter type. The issuing authority 'Kais. Kön. Haupt-Münzamt.' appears at lower left with a manuscript signature at lower right, and the date 'Wien am 1. Juli 1849.' beneath the redemption text.

Reverse description The reverse is entirely unprinted, consisting of plain paper with no text, vignettes, or ornamental elements, consistent with the single-sided letterpress production method employed for this emergency small-change Münzschein issue.
