| Описание аверса | Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the centre of the field, with wings spread and each head surmounted by a small crown, the whole ensemble surmounted by a large imperial crown with ribbons. The eagle bears the traditional emblems of the Russian Empire on its breast shield. The design is executed in high relief with fine engraving typical of the late Imperial period under Tsar Nicholas II (r. 1894–1917). The field is plain, with no legend on this face beyond the mintmaster initials appearing on marked varieties. |
