| Popis rubu | The reverse presents a three-quarter-length effigy of Saint Theodosius of the Caves (Феодосій Печерський) facing slightly right, wearing monastic robes and displaying a gilded halo rendered in gold-plated relief — a distinctive decorative accent against the antique silver surface. The saint holds an open scroll inscribed in Church Slavonic: ГОСПОДИ, В ІМ'Я ПРЕСВЯТОЇ БОГОРОДИЦІ, МАТЕРІ ТВОЄЇ, ЗВЕДЕНИЙ БУВ ХРАМ ЦЕЙ. To the right of the figure, a detailed architectural rendering of the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra occupies the upper field, shown in elevation with multiple cupolas and arched façades. The Cyrillic legend ФЕОДОСІЙ ПЕЧЕРСЬКИЙ is inscribed in large characters to the lower right, with the century designation ХІ СТ. beneath it. The composition is finished in antique silver with selectively applied gold plating on the halo, lending iconic solemnity to the design. |

Theodosius of the Caves co-founded the Kyevo-Pecherska Lavra — the Monastery of the Caves — in the eleventh century alongside Anthony of the Caves, establishing what became the most influential monastic institution in Kievan Rus. Unlike Anthony, who preferred the solitary life of a hermit, Theodosius organized the community along the lines of the Studite rule from Constantinople, effectively importing Byzantine cenobitic monasticism into the Slavic world. The Lavra went on to train bishops, produce chroniclers including the probable author of the Primary Chronicle, and survive Mongol destruction in 1240 before re-emerging as a center of Orthodox ecclesiastical authority.
