Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features a stylized relief figure of a dancer rendered in an avant-garde Constructivist manner, depicted in a dynamic pose characteristic of a Spanish dance, dressed in a geometric, layered costume with a structured bodice and flared pleated skirt. A large elliptical form in the background is applied in polychrome colour, rendered in bold amber-yellow and dark red diagonal stripes, evoking the theatrical vibrancy of Ekster's costume and stage designs. The small Ukrainian state coat of arms (tryzub) appears at the top of the field above the figure. The legend УКРАЇНА and the date 2026 are inscribed along the left edge of the octagonal field, with the denomination 10 ₴ below; the artist's name ОЛЕКСАНДРА ЕКСТЕР runs vertically along the right edge. The metallic specification Ag 999 31,1 is inscribed along the lower edge.

Aanvullende informatie

Aleksandra Ekster left Kyiv for Paris in 1908 and spent years shuttling between the two cities, absorbing Cubism and Futurism before synthesizing them into something neither French nor Italian — a distinctly Ukrainian strain of the avant-garde that her contemporaries in the West rarely credited to its actual geographic roots. She designed sets and costumes for Aleksandr Tairov's Kamerny Theatre in Moscow, work that remains some of the most radical stage design of the early twentieth century.

Ukraine has issued a broader series documenting the Ukrainian Avant-Garde Movement; Ekster is among the most internationally recognized figures it claims.
