Above it rises a fortification structure representing the city's historic defensive architecture. The inscription СЕВАСТОПОЛЬ curves along the upper field, with the founding year РІК ЗАСНУВАННЯ 1783 inscribed below, commemorating the 225th anniversary of the city's establishment.
