| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is printed in dark brown on cream paper and divided into three panels within a guilloche border. The left and right panels each bear the denomination numeral '10' above 'Heller' in bold Gothic script, framed by ornamental floral vignettes. The central panel contains a landscape vignette of a wooded scene with a structure among trees. A two-line poetic verse in Gothic script runs across the top, and below the panels a three-line redemption text reads 'Die Gemeinde Waldzell haftet für die Verbindlichkeit, diesen Gutschein bis 31. Oktober 1920 in gesetzl. Währung einzulösen,' followed by the manuscript signature of the Bürgermeister (mayor) Jakob Gefried. The engraver's name 'C. Daringer' appears at lower right. |

Waldzell is a small Upper Austrian market commune, and this 10 Heller note is a product of the Notgeld wave that swept Austrian municipalities between 1920 and 1921, when postwar coin shortages made small-denomination paper a practical necessity rather than a collector exercise. C. Daringer's design credit is uncommon for a village-level issue — most Gemeinde Notgeld of this scale relied on generic print-shop stock layouts rather than named designers.
Bürgermeister Jakob Gefried's signature gives the note its local legal authority. Redemption obligations for Austrian municipal Notgeld were rarely enforced after the krone's collapse accelerated through 1922.
