正面描述 Rose-tinted notgeld note with a vertical left panel containing the denomination inscription in Gothic script and the validity date, set within a decorative border. The right portion is occupied by a large intaglio-style landscape vignette of Schloss Ranna-Mühldorf perched atop a rocky hillside, rendered in fine line engraving with trees and shrubs in the foreground. The title 'Wachauer Notgeld' appears in Gothic lettering along the top border, with 'Schloss Ranna-Mühldorf' inscribed in a dark band at the foot of the vignette; the designer and engraver credits appear in small type at the lower left and right margins respectively.

背面描述 Plain cream-coloured reverse with a bold outer border of square decorative stops enclosing the full text of the note's legal guarantee. The denomination numeral '10' appears in large type at upper left and upper right flanking the heading 'Wachauer Notgeld / Gutschein der Gemeinde Spitz an der Donau' in Gothic blackletter. Below, a block of smaller Gothic text sets out the liability undertaking of the Marktgemeinde Spitz a./D., followed by the anti-counterfeiting warning 'Nachahmung wird bestraft' and three manuscript signatures above their respective office titles.

备注

This is one of the Wachau Notgeld issues — emergency local currency produced by Austrian municipalities between 1920 and 1921 to address the chronic small-change shortage that plagued the young republic after the collapse of imperial Austria. Spitz an der Donau, a small wine-growing town in the Wachau valley, issued its own series under the Ranna-Mühldorf sub-designation, suggesting distribution tied to specific villages or mill communities within the commune.

Edmund Sieger's engraving work on these regional Notgeld pieces is technically accomplished for what was essentially a stopgap currency. Weber's designs for the Wachau series were among the more artistically considered of the Austrian municipal issues, which drove collector demand even at the time of printing — a known complication for assessing genuine circulation wear on surviving examples.
