Obverse description Green and cream notgeld printed in letterpress style, with the denomination numeral 10 repeated in each corner within decorative scroll vignettes. A central rectangular vignette, signed by artist E. Tomaschun in the upper left, presents a riverside panorama of Stein an der Donau with its characteristic twin-towered Baroque church and town buildings along the Danube. Below the central vignette, an Austrian double-headed eagle underprint appears between the bold Gothic lettering reading HELLER, while the top border carries the inscription Notgeld der Gemeinde in Gothic script and the lower border reads Stadt Stein a. d. D.

Reverse description Plain cream paper reverse printed in olive-green letterpress, with the numeral 10 in each corner. A central bordered text panel in Gothic script carries the full redemption notice, stating that the Stadtgemeinde Stein a. D. issued interest-free Kassenscheine to the value of 100,000 Kronen to alleviate the small-change shortage, redeemable at the municipal treasury between 16 and 30 September 1920, with a counterfeit warning at the foot. The printer's imprint J. Faber, Krems appears beneath the text panel.
