Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse is set within a single-rule border and executed entirely in Gothic blackletter script, with key words printed in red. At left, an ornate illuminated-manuscript-style vignette frames the denomination '10 Heller' in red within a decorative cartouche, flanked by flowing pen-and-ink foliage. The main text, reading 'Dieser Gutschein wird von der Gemeinde St. Lorenz am Mondsee bis 28. Feb. 1921 in gesetzl. Währung eingelöst,' occupies the body of the note, with the issuer's name rendered in larger red Gothic type. At lower right, a manuscript signature appears beneath the designation 'der Bürgermeister:'.

Opmerkingen

Sankt Lorenz am Mondsee is a small resort community on the Mondsee in Upper Austria, and like hundreds of Austrian municipalities it resorted to issuing its own Notgeld during the acute small-change shortage that followed the First World War. These local emergency issues were typically authorized at the Gemeinde level with no central oversight, which is why the quality and design ambition varied so wildly across issues from neighboring villages.

Alfred Gerstenbrand's involvement places this among the more carefully considered pieces in the regional series — he was a known contributor to Austrian Notgeld design rather than a local amateur pressed into service.
