Sankt Georgen an der Gusen is a small market town in Upper Austria, and this 10 Heller note belongs to the vast wave of Austrian Notgeld issued between 1919 and 1921 — a direct consequence of the post-war coin shortage that left even minor municipalities scrambling to produce their own fractional emergency currency.
