Violet-purple notgeld on plain paper stock, with a rectangular border frame enclosing a central vignette of a panoramic bird's-eye view of Helpfau-Uttendorf, rendered in a woodcut-style engraving with a church steeple visible among rooftops and trees. The denomination '10' in large Gothic numerals appears flanked by the word 'heller' at upper left and upper right, with the issuer name 'helpfau Uttendorf' in bold Gothic script along the lower margin beneath the vignette. |

Plain cream-toned paper with a light guilloche underprint in violet incorporating repeated text of the municipality name and denomination. The text is set entirely in Gothic blackletter script: the issuer heading 'Gemeinde Helpfau-Uttendorf.' appears at the top, followed by 'Gutschein über' and the large denomination legend 'Zehn Heller' in a display typeface. Below, a redemption clause states the validity date of 31 October 1920, with three facsimile signatures identifying the Bürgermeister and two Vizebürgermeister. The printer's imprint appears at the foot. |

One of thousands of Austrian municipal Notgeld issues produced during the coin shortage that followed the First World War, this 10 Heller piece from Helpfau-Uttendorf is notable for carrying three signatures — Bürgermeister Fuchs flanked by both Vizebürgermeisters, an unusually heavy endorsement for a fractional emergency note. The printer, Josef Stampfl & Comp. operating under Leop. Höglinger, was a local Braunau am Inn firm, and the proximity of that town to the issuing municipality kept production costs minimal.
The "b" suffix in the Jaksc/Pick reference indicates a variant within the series — likely a paper stock or signature configuration difference from the "a" type.
