| 裏面の説明 | Printed in olive-green on cream paper, the reverse is enclosed within a floral and foliate decorative border. The issuer's name 'Gemeinde Goisern.' appears at the top in Gothic script, followed by the large numeral '10' and the denomination 'Zehn Heller' in ornate lettering. A block of text in cursive Gothic script sets out the redemption conditions, referencing the municipal committee resolution of 20 March 1920 and the obligation to redeem the note within four weeks at the Spar- und Kreditverein Goisern. A small floral ornament appears at the centre-foot, with the printer's imprint 'E. Prietzel, Steyr' below the border. |

Goisern is a market town in the Salzkammergut, and this 10 Heller notgeld dates from the period when Austrian municipalities were forced to produce their own small-denomination scrip to fill the void left by the disappearance of coins from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply not minted in sufficient quantity after the war. The issuing authority here is the municipality itself, not a bank or commercial house, which was the norm for Salzkammergut valley towns of this size.
E. Prietzel in Steyr handled a considerable volume of Upper Austrian notgeld work during this period. Paul Gutscher's design credit is worth noting — named local designers on notgeld of this denomination are less common than on the decorative collector-oriented issues produced slightly later in 1920 and 1921.
