| 表面の説明 | Printed in green on cream paper, the obverse carries a central vignette of the Böheimkirchen parish church with surrounding buildings and foliage, set against a chequered background. Decorative foliate scrollwork ornaments flank the vignette on either side, with the denomination numeral '10' in bold within dark oval cartouches at each upper corner. The denomination and issuer title appear in letterpress along the top, with a liability clause and date '20.V.1920' printed in small type beneath the vignette, above three manuscript signature lines. |

Böheimkirchen is a small market town in Lower Austria, and this 10 Heller note is a product of the acute coin shortage that gripped Austria in the immediate postwar years. With the old imperial coinage collapsing in value and small denominations vanishing from circulation, hundreds of Austrian municipalities printed their own emergency money — Notgeld — to keep local commerce moving. The Gemeinde turned to Sommer in nearby St. Pölten, a practical choice for a small community with no access to the major Vienna printers.
The Jaksc catalog documents this series exhaustively; Böheimkirchen issued multiple denominations under the same authorization.
