| Beschrijving voorzijde | Cream-toned note with an overall dotted guilloche underprint. At left, the heraldic arms of Bad Aussee — a red and silver divided shield bearing two salt barrels above a trout — set within an elaborate foliate cartouche with stylised wing supporters. To the right, the denomination '10 H.' is rendered in large decorative script at upper right, below which the validity date, anti-counterfeiting notice, and issuing authority appear in Gothic lettering. Three manuscript signatures appear in the lower half: the Bürgermeister above, and both Vicebürgermeister below. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse is printed in warm polychrome tones with a floral and foliate border in dark red and brown. A central vignette presents a panoramic landscape view of Bad Aussee with a church steeple and Alpine peaks beyond, flanked by two full-length figures in traditional Styrian costume — a huntsman at left and a musician at right. The issuing authority 'Marktgemeinde Bad Aussee in Steiermark' is inscribed at top in Gothic script, with a four-line dialect verse below the landscape. The printer's imprint appears at the foot. |

Bad Aussee issued its own emergency small change during the acute coin shortage that gripped Austria in the immediate postwar years. These Notgeld issues were a purely local stopgap — the Marktgemeinde authorizing and distributing them as the national monetary system struggled to absorb the collapse of the Habsburg economy. Aug. Matthéy in Graz was a regional commercial printer, not a specialist security firm, which is exactly what you'd expect at this level of municipal issue.
The 10 Heller denomination places this among the smallest-value Notgeld produced in the Salzkammergut region. Bad Aussee was a salt-mining town; even modest commercial transactions required functional small change that simply wasn't available through official channels in 1920.
