| Beschrijving voorzijde | Centrally placed Polish crowned eagle displayed with wings spread, modelled in low relief after the pre-war Republican type designed by Jastrzębowski. The date 1923 appears above the eagle flanked by lozenge stops, with the circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA running around the periphery. Mintmark W appears above the left talon and the initial J above the right talon, identifying the Warsaw Mint and the engraver respectively. The overall style is restrained and heraldic, consistent with the interwar Polish coinage aesthetic, re-struck on zinc planchets during the German occupation. |
