The central hub bears the inscriptions PLACE YEAR OVER MONTH, FOR 50 YRS, CALENDAR, 1995-2044, and RED MONTH FOR LEAP YR arranged around a raised pivot point. A nautical anchor device appears in relief to the left of the central disk. The entire mechanism is designed to rotate so that the selected year aligns with the appropriate month column to determine the correct day of the week. |
