Obverse lettering أحمد باشا باي تونس ١٠ فرنكات ١٣٥٣
(Translation: Ahmed Pacha Bey of Tunis 10 Francs 1353)
Reverse description The denomination '10 FRANCS' is boldly displayed in two lines at the centre of the field, with the country name 'TUNISIE' inscribed above in large Latin capitals. The numeral '10' is rendered in a larger font size, dominating the central space. Elaborate scrolling floral and foliate arabesque ornaments flank the numeral on either side and appear as decorative borders at the top and bottom of the design, executed in a style harmonising French Art Deco with North African decorative motifs. A fine beaded inner border runs along the coin's periphery.
