Obverse description Left-facing effigy of Marianne wearing a Phrygian cap, her flowing hair rendered with fine detail, engraved by Raymond Joly whose signature appears in the field to the right of the portrait. The circular legend RÉPVBLIQVE FRANÇAISE runs along the upper periphery, while the date appears at the bottom of the coin flanked by dots.
