Obverse description Hungarian-language camp voucher printed in black and red on white paper, with a red guilloche floral border framing the entire note. The denomination numeral '10' appears in four dark circular cartouches at each corner. At the top centre, an oval wreath medallion bears the validity restriction inscription in Hungarian. The central text panel states the issuing authority 'Cs. és K. Hadifogoly-Tábor / Zalaegerszeg-Tábor' above the large gothic-script denomination 'Tiz fillér', followed by an explanatory text and the date 15 August 1916. Below, three facsimile signatures over their respective role titles flank the Austro-Hungarian imperial coat of arms with the motto ribbons 'INDIVISIBILITER' and 'INSEPARABILITER'; the printer's imprint '"Globus" Budapest' appears at lower right.

K.u.K. prisoner of war camps throughout the Austro-Hungarian empire issued their own internal camp currencies during the First World War to prevent prisoners from accumulating spendable money that could fund escape attempts. Zalaegerszeg held predominantly Russian and Serbian POWs — at its peak, tens of thousands were interned there, making it one of the larger camp complexes on Hungarian soil. The camp scrip circulated only within the wire, redeemable at the camp canteen, and had no value outside.

Globus Nyomda was a Budapest commercial printer, not a security printing firm. The notes were produced to a functional rather than anti-counterfeiting standard — hardly necessary given the circumstances.
