Additional information

Estonia joined the Winter Olympics for the first time as an independent post-Soviet state in 1992, but the country's winter sports history runs considerably deeper — Estonian athletes competed under the Soviet flag for decades, and cross-country skiing has held a near-cultural status in the country since the early twentieth century. The 2018 Pyeongchang Games, which this coin commemorates, saw Estonia field a small but competitive team with genuine medal expectations in the skiing disciplines.

KM#87 is a relatively straightforward commemorative issue from Eesti Pank's modern collector series.
