| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a bold, dynamic composition evoking the historic East German Uprising of 17 June 1953. Diagonal bands suggestive of tank tracks traverse the field, their textured, repetitive pattern conveying the oppressive presence of military force. Superimposed across these bands, in ascending staggered lines reading from lower left to upper right, are the slogans of the uprising rendered in period-style lettering: STREIK, NIEDER MIT DEN NORMEN, RÜCKTRITT DER REGIERUNG, FREIE GEHEIME WAHLEN, DEMOKRATIE, and FREIHEIT.
