Superimposed across these bands, in ascending staggered lines reading from lower left to upper right, are the slogans of the uprising rendered in period-style lettering: STREIK, NIEDER MIT DEN NORMEN, RÜCKTRITT DER REGIERUNG, FREIE GEHEIME WAHLEN, DEMOKRATIE, and FREIHEIT. In the lower right field, a commemorative inscription reads 50 JAHRE / 17. JUNI 1953, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the uprising. |
