10 Euros Self-Government Constitution

Malta's 1921 Constitution established the first elected legislature in the island's history under British colonial rule, granting a degree of self-government that would be suspended, restored, and suspended again across the following decades as relations with London deteriorated. The 1921 framework was effectively dead by 1933, when the colonial government revoked it following disputes over language policy — specifically the official status of Italian, which Britain viewed with increasing suspicion as Mussolini's ambitions in the Mediterranean became harder to ignore.
