| Obverse description | The arms of the Republic of Malta occupy the central field, comprising a shield party per pale showing the George Cross on the dexter and vertical stripes on the sinister, surmounted by a mural crown with five visible towers and flanked by two sprays of olive and palm forming a wreath. A scroll at the base of the shield bears the legend REPUBBLIKA TA' MALTA. The country name MALTA arcs along the left legend in large upright letters, while the date 2021 is inscribed vertically along the right inner border. Twelve five-pointed stars, emblematic of the European Union, encircle the design on the raised rim. |

| Reverse description | Melita, the classical allegorical personification of Malta, is depicted seated three-quarter facing, wearing a mural crown and classical drapery, holding aloft the bicolour Maltese flag on a staff with her right hand while resting her left hand on a stone plinth. The denomination 10 EURO appears in the lower left field. The commemorative legend CENTENARY SELF-GOVERNMENT CONSTITUTION arcs across the upper border, with CONSTITUTION continuing vertically along the right border. The dual dates 1921 and 2021 are inscribed in two lines at the lower right, and the engraver's initials NGB appear at the base of the field. |
