| Reverse description | A dramatic interior perspective of the Seckau Abbey basilica fills the entire field, depicting the nave as seen from the entrance toward the high altar. The elaborately ribbed and fan-vaulted ceiling dominates the upper portion of the design, while the nave flanked by rounded Romanesque arches and clustered columns recedes toward the apse. At the far end of the nave, a crucifix group with flanking figures is visible beneath the triumphal arch, with the high altar and choir stalls rendered in precise architectural detail. The composition conveys the solemn grandeur of the Romanesque interior through skilled low-relief engraving, with the engraver's initials T.P. visible in the lower left margin. The reverse carries no legends, allowing the architectural imagery to fill the field to the inner rim. |
