| 表面の説明 | The obverse presents a richly detailed composite depiction of iconic Parisian museum facades and architectural landmarks rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. Prominent elements include the ornate clock face and decorative sculptural friezes of the Musée d'Orsay at left, the classical colonnade and pediment of the Louvre at upper right, and the glazed pyramid of the Grand Louvre in the lower right field. The lower portion features the roof structure and neoclassical facade of the Musée de l'Orangerie. The horizontal legend RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE appears in raised letters across the lower central field, accompanied by the denomination 10 EURO to the right. |

Issued as part of Monnaie de Paris's long-running "Masterpieces of French Museums" program, this coin commemorates a painting that caused a scandal at the 1863 Salon des Refusés — the exhibition Napoleon III established specifically for work rejected by the official Salon jury. Manet's canvas was not merely rejected; it was publicly mocked, drawing crowds who came to laugh rather than admire.
The .900 fineness places it outside standard French commemorative silver specifications, a deliberate choice for the series to achieve a particular surface quality suited to color application and fine relief reproduction.
