| Reverse description | The reverse bears a finely engraved interpretation of Édouard Manet's celebrated 1863 painting Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe, faithfully rendered in sculptural relief with exceptional detail. The central composition depicts a nude female figure reclining alongside two fully dressed male companions in a woodland setting, with a second lightly draped female figure wading in the middle ground behind them. A decorative circular cartouche inscribed CHEFS D'ŒUVRE DES MUSÉES with a central star motif appears in the lower field. The inscription LE DÉJEUNER SUR L'HERBE Édouard MANET is engraved along the upper portion of the field within a framed border, and the year 2017 is inscribed at the lower right. |
