Obverse description The obverse presents finely engraved architectural renderings of two of Vienna's most celebrated cultural landmarks: the Burgtheater in the upper left field and the Vienna State Opera (Wiener Staatsoper) occupying the central and right portions of the design. Both facades are rendered with exceptional detail, capturing the neo-Baroque and neo-Renaissance architectural character of the buildings. The denomination '10 EURO' appears prominently in the lower left field, with the date '2005' inscribed centrally near the base of the design. The legend 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' curves along the lower rim.

Reverse description The reverse features two allegorical theatrical masks in high relief, depicted in profile and facing outward from the centre — one smiling, representing Comedy, and one sorrowful, representing Tragedy — referencing the classical dramaturgy associated with the Burgtheater and the Vienna State Opera. Between the two masks, crossed theatrical or musical attributes are visible, and the Austrian shield appears at the apex of the composition. The arc legend 'WIEDERERÖFFNUNG VON BURG UND OPER' curves along the upper rim, with the year '1955' positioned at the lower right, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the reopening of both institutions following World War II. The engraver's signature 'WÄHNER' is visible in the lower right field.
