| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features a dynamic cartoon vignette depicting the three iconic characters from the Astérix comic series: Obélix, the large Gaulish menhir-delivery man, dominates the center of the field carrying the large numeral '0' of the denomination, while Astérix, the diminutive winged-helmeted Gaulish warrior, supports the '1' to the left; the small white dog Idéfix (Dogmatix) appears in the lower right field. The large denomination numeral '10' is formed in part by the characters themselves, with the inscription 'RF' appearing to the right and 'EURO' inscribed along the lower field in bold raised lettering. The entire composition is rendered in high-relief milled proof style without applied color, conveying a lively and humorous artistic character faithful to the original Goscinny and Uderzo illustrations. |
