A beaded inner border frames the entire design, and the date 2024 appears in the right field. Part of Greece's long-running "Greek Technology" series, this issue commemorates the water-lifting device attributed to Archimedes following his time in Egypt, likely in the third century BC. Whether Archimedes invented the screw outright or systematized an existing Egyptian mechanism remains genuinely disputed among historians of ancient technology.
