Aversbeschreibung	Central device features the colonial coat of arms of Portuguese Guinea, comprising the Portuguese shield — bearing five escutcheons charged with roundels arranged in a cross — superimposed upon an armillary sphere, symbolising Portuguese overseas expansion. A mural crown surmounts the shield above. Decorative floral ornaments flank the central device in the field to either side. The colony name GUINÉ arcs prominently along the upper legend, while the denomination 10$00 appears in large numerals below the shield. The entire design is framed by a beaded inner border.
