Beschrijving voorzijde	Central device comprising the Portuguese armillary sphere overlaid with the Portuguese royal arms shield, the whole flanked by two diagonal sword-like elements. The circular legend REPÚBLICA·PORTUGUESA arcs around the upper periphery, while the date appears in the lower field between two small decorative stars. The design reflects the standard Portuguese colonial heraldic style of the Estado Novo period.

Beschrijving keerzijde	Central device depicting the crowned arms of Angola — a shield bearing the Portuguese quinas at center, supported by a crest of five heraldic crowns above, and flanked by a sable (zebra) passant to the right, all superimposed on a Portuguese armillary sphere. The legend ANGOLA arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination 10$00 is prominently displayed in the lower field. Decorative floral ornaments punctuate the field on either side at the mid-level.
