Obverse description Armored bust of György (Georg) Rákóczi I facing right, wearing richly embossed plate armor with an elaborately decorated gorget and a ruff collar. He holds a scepter over his right shoulder, while his left hand rests at his side. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail emphasizing the articulated armor surfaces. Reverse description Central cartouche framed by elaborate foliate and scrollwork ornamental borders, enclosing a six-line Latin scriptural inscription. Above and below the cartouche, decorative flourishes featuring stylized birds and acanthus scrolls fill the inner field. The circular outer legend records the date ANNO DOM MDCXXXI and the word SOLI DEO GLORIA, referencing the Calvinist motto of the prince. The overall design reflects the refined Renaissance medallic tradition prevalent in Transylvanian court coinage of the early seventeenth century.
